What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy for speech therapy services refers to the provision of one-to-one speech therapy sessions through remote communication technology. In this approach, a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) conducts individual therapy sessions with a client in a virtual setting, typically through a HIPAA compliant platform.
One-to-one teletherapy for speech therapy provides a convenient and effective way for individuals to receive personalized speech and language intervention, regardless of their geographical location.
2
Is teletherapy effective for therapy targeting communication disorders?
Yes! Teletherapy is effective for targeting a wide variety of communication disorders. It is endorsed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the national governing body for speech-language pathologists. Research supports its effectiveness for both children and adults. Teletherapy provides accessibility, individualized treatment, engagement through digital tools, and data collection capabilities, making it a valuable option for many clients.
3
What equipment do I need for teletherapy?
1. A computer or tablet with a camera
2. A high-speed internet connection
4
How long are sessions?
Sessions are either 30 or 50 minutes in length. Most often, they occur either 1-2 times per week, depending on the specific needs of the client.

How does billing work?
Virtual Speech Solutions is an out-of-network provider; therefore, we do not bill insurance directly on your behalf. Instead, we offer a comprehensive superbill that includes vital information for both clients and providers, detailing the therapy session that was administered.

Clients have the option to independently submit each superbill to their insurance company to seek reimbursement for out-of-network services. Please be aware that not all insurance carriers provide reimbursement for out-of-network services. Therefore, we strongly recommend discussing this option with your insurance provider before initiating our services.

We accept payments through debit and credit cards, as well as Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).

Should you require additional assistance or have questions regarding the billing process, please do not hesitate to contact us. View our written directions below to determine out-of-network benefits.
